I’m still a little surprised The New Republic gave me seven thousand words with which to expound on the sudden reappearance of anti-Zionist sentiments among American Jews. You may be surprised, too. And if your name is Marty Peretz—who for years owned and edited the magazine, regularly sullying it with his bigoted rants vilifying the Palestinian people—you may be really pissed. Good. Screw you, Marty.
No need to ramble on. Just wanted to let folks know it’s out there.
I feel honored to have had the chance to explore all this some very smart people, including Rashid Khalidi, Joshua Cohen, Shaul Magid, Derek Penslar, Ruth Wisse, Gil Troy, and a 17-year-old junior counselor at a branch of the Labor Zionist summer camp I attended about four decades ago.
As noted, it’s long as all hell. Nobody has time for this stuff! But if you do manage to give it a read I’ll be grateful to hear what you think.
By the way, the picture above is by Reuben Radding, my oldest friend and a true genius.
I spent most of the 80's advocating foe a 2 state solution. Now, I believe it's too late. It sickens me that the Israeli government engages in the same methods that Nazi's did to the Jews. Gaza is the Warsaw ghetto of our day.
Yes, I am an anti Zionist.
Read and shared, thanks.
